FREE PROGRAM –  Monday, March 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

“The Camels are Coming to Texas”

Our speaker will be Carol Hanson telling of the U.S. Army’s “Camel Experiment”.

During the 1850’s dozens of camels were brought to central Texas. 

It’s a fascinating story with countless historic developments.

The program will begin 7 p.m. in the Museum at 607 Cedar Street.

Regular Events

MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS General membership programs are usually held quarterly in March, June, September and December. Monthly board meetings and most quarterly programs take place at the Museum in Historic Downtown Cedar Hill. Meetings and programs are generally held on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Please call the office at (972) 293-3806 for current meetings scheduled.

CITY BLOCK PARTY The Museum Group participates in this annual event held in March.  Heritage calendars at a reduced price if they have not previously sold out.

SPRING STORYTELLING PARTY Members and guests enjoy a fun evening telling stories and winning “prizes”.

CHISD Reunion Held in September annually.  The Museum scans photographs and schedules oral histories at the event.

Country Day on the Hill – This festival is held the second Saturday of October in downtown Cedar Hill.   For more information visit http://cedarhillcountryday.com

Old Settler’s Reunion – Takes place the Friday evening before Country Day.  Dinner under a tent in the 600 block of Cedar Street, crowning of the Cedar Hill King and Queen and lots of bingo prizes.

 

Our Next Event

The Cedar Hill Museum of History board meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at 607 Cedar Street.
